Ice Lipno Skating Track

Lipno is attractive for skaters who can use more than 10 km long skating track with the natural ice which is one of the longest tracks of this kind in Europe.The track is regularly maintained together with checking the thickness of the ice along the whole of its length. As the part of this track there is a sport rental and at the weekends also refreshing points.

The track is connected among the towns of Frymburk, Predni Vyton and Lipno nad Vltavou in the width of 8 metres. In Frymburk and Lipno nad Vltavou the track is done in the shape of oval which is all ideal for the family with children even in a baby carriage.

The track is maintained by voluntary people who remove the snow and sweep the ice by a brush.

The skating on the frozen lake is therefore a beautiful experience for everybody not only from the reason of skating but also from the amazing view of the whole Lipno as well as healthy fresh mountain air.

This Lipno lake track is the part of the Guiness Record Book while it was written there in 2009 for its length which is 10 923 metres of regularly maintained skating track. The second one, previously the first one, is the Canadian track in Ottawa with its nearly 8 km.
