Lymphatic Massages

Manual lymphatic massage

The manual lymphatic massage is a type of massage which is performed with fine moves in certain areas of our body in order to stimulate the lymph circulation. The lymphatic massage is now recognized as a means to relieve and treat problems caused by swelling of the lymph. It stimulates the lymphatic circulation and removes toxins from the body.

The lymphatic system is dependent on the work of smooth muscle cells in the lymphatic walls, but also the movement of the skeletal muscles that help to move the lymphatic fluid into the lymph nodes and the lymph ducts supplying the cardiovascular system. Because lymphs do not have pumps like the heart, the flow slows down over time. During manual lymphatic massage the therapist uses minimal pressure and slow circular movements to stimulate the lymph flow. The manual lymphatic massage started to be used in the thirties of the 20th century in France. It was discovered by Dr. Vodder who used it to treat chronic sinusitis or immune system problems. However, the first record of the existence of the lymphatic system can be already found in Hippocrates, the father of the European medicine.
The lymphatic massage is now recognized as a means to relieve and treat problems caused by swelling of the lymph. Therapists may receive a certificate to practice the lymphatic massage in the specialized courses under the professional guidance of specialized organizations.

These massages are performed by qualified professionals who hold a certificate accredited by the Ministry of Health. We offer to our clients both the whole-body and partial lymphatic massage and we do believe it will become part of our yearlong wellness program and bring results to our clients.
